Industry Working Group Recommendations WHO 5th to WHO 6th
In response to the release of the World Health Organization's (WHO) 6th Edition Laboratory Manual for the Examination and Processing of Human Semen, an Industry Working Group, in collaboration with Scientists in Reproductive Technology (SIRT) and the Fertility Society of Australia, has developed a support document outlining recommendations to assist laboratories with the manual's interpretation and practical implementation. This guidance addresses recent modifications in terminology, measurement standards, and procedural protocols outlined in the 6th edition, aiming to mitigate interpretational challenges for clinicians and laboratory professionals. New Andrology Education Module
EQASRM has created a 5 part programme for Diagnostic Semen Analysis. Based on WHO guidelines, the programme will educate and assist laboratory scientists and managers on the principles, application and interpretation of diagnostic semen analysis parameters and the effective implementation of EQA and IQC to their lab.
